This lathe-cut, liquid-filled 12-inch record takes its inspiration from Hurricane Sandy, which struck the northeastern United States in 2012. One side features a composition layering audio from different news broadcasts covering the storm. The other features a laser-cut design incorporating transcriptions of these broadcasts, typeset to evoke the wind patterns of the storm as it moved along the Eastern Seaboard. The record is filled with a translucent blue fluid that shifts and circulates as the disc is spun or tilted, introducing a physical, fluid dimension to the work.
